Singing Bible Drill, a sing-along teaching tool for the Children's Bible Drill

Welcome to the Singing Bible Drill!

I remember attending Vacation Bible School as a child at East Gadsden Baptist Church in Alabama. An energetic, talented, wonderful young lady named Melba Stafford would come into the Sunday School room and sit at the old piano. All the children would gather around her as she played, sang and taught us the books of the Bible song. I can still picture that happy time in my mind.

I have always enjoyed singing, song writing, entertaining (always as a volunteer) and music. I feel that the Good Lord has blessed me with an inspiration and vision to help children learn about the Bible. Thus, the Singing Bible Drill has been a labor of love. The Holy Spirit has been my guide as I match memory verses and key passages with familiar children's songs and old hymn favorites.

During the past three years, I have added read and sing along videos to YouTube, dee downey pruett channel. The teacher in me realizes if you hear, see, read and sing along out loud, move, participate and sway to the music, you have a greater chance of learning and remembering God's Word. On Home Page, open Read Along Books and Songs on Video. For adults, I have added Amazing Grace, Name that tune. I enjoy volunteering at Retirement Homes and performing some great songs I grew up with in the 60's and 70's.

In 2014, I retired from teaching the SEE - Supportive Educational Environment Program, which served the expecting and parenting teens in the Etowah County School System. I lovingly called the children of my students, my "Grand-students".

Over the past 5 years, I have also been in and out of jail. Yes, another learning experience as I teach Adult Education, GED math classes to inmates at the Detention Center. When I first started in the great SAPP - Substance Abuse Prevention Program, a student said, Hello my name is * and I am an addict. I requested while in GED class, to say I am a student. Proud of all these inmates who are using their time to study and prepare to return to their families. I hope to be a life long learner. I feel God has given me a heart of love for all and I enjoy sharing His Word in song. Ephesians 5:15-20 and Proverbs 3:5&6.

It is my hope and prayer that the Singing Bible Drill will be a great and fun way for the whole family to learn about the Bible. As you listen to the songs, get you Bible... Attention, Present Bible, and Participate! "Everyone is a winner, even a beginner, when you're learning about the Bible!"
